Group Learning and Productivity
Although organizations are comprised of individuals, in order for those organizations to reach their highest levels of profitability, they often require that highly productive individuals work together in cohesive groups. It's not unusual for individuals to be involved in different groups for each project on which they work. It’s also likely individuals within groups are dispersed across several countries.
Bruce Tuckman’s Forming Storming Norming Performing model is likely to occur even with geographically dispersed groups. However, short project cycle times require groups to form, storm, and norm very quickly so they can then perform at their highest levels of productivity before adjourning.
